Why Choose Bills Bedding and Furniture?
Originally founded in 1918 as a hardware and plumbing business by George Despathy in Moosup, Connecticut, the business swiftly changed by 1920 to furniture and bedding as the textile mills went south. As the business grew, a second location was added in Danielson, Connecticut in the 1930s. Just after the new Danielson store was built (the present location) in 1954, George died and his son, Wilfred took over. Under his ownership the store grew to a third location in Willimantic, Connecticut and thrived through the 60s and 70s.
At his Wilfred Sr.'s retirement, his son, Wilfred Jr. took over until a devastating fire in 1978 that burned the original Moosup store to the ground. At this point, Wilfred Jr. Decided to take the business to East Hartford and start over.
Wilfred Sr.'s daughter Joyce, and her husband (and long time Despathy Furniture employee) Bill Nadeau, decided to continue the family tradition in the Danielson store location, changing the name to Bill ’s Bedding and Furniture Showroom in 1979. While they ran the business, they made modest improvements and additions to the original building.
Upon Bill and Joyce's retirement in 1990, sons Gary and Jerry Nadeau acquired ownership of the corporation. Having been around the furniture business since childhood (and working for their parents for years), they are successfully introducing new improvements that keep Bill ’s Bedding and Furniture Showroom a unique and comfortable place to shop. And now the 5th generation — Gary ’s daughter Deana — has now joined he business ensuring continued operation into the next millennium.

Delivery Information
Orders placed within our local delivery area, will arrive on our trucks. A customer service person will call to arrange delivery. In stock items will be delivered in 1 to 2 weeks. Please allow 4 to 8 weeks on out of stock items and special orders. Please note: It is important for someone to be at home to accept the delivery on the scheduled day, otherwise a redelivery charge will be incurred.
Are there Warranties Available?
Bills Bedding and Furniture honors all manufacturers' warranties. Depending on the type of furniture you select, the warranty will vary. If you would like more specific information about the warranty for the furniture you are considering please call us at 860-774-2245.
What is Your Return Policy?
At Bills Bedding and Furniture we want you to feel confident about your purchase. The furniture being returned must be in re-saleable condition and boxed in the original manufacturers' packaging materials. This excludes bedding, and delivery charges. Returns are subject to applicable delivery or pick up fees.
